Docent picnicVolunteers at Tate House are part of a wonderful community of museum supporters who contribute greatly to its day-to-day operation. Their roles include leading tours as a docent, greeting visitors, running the museum shop, maintaining the gardens, leading school groups, serving on the board of directors, or participating in one of the standing committees listed below. If you are interested in becoming a docent, please visit the Portland History Docents (PHD) website. The “PHD” is a program to recruit and train docents for a number of historic sites in and around Portland. Tate House Museum is a member of the Portland History Collaborative.
